berries and bellyaches
I accepted a krispy kreme donut about 2 hours ago and now its tearing up my stomach, and why they usually are gross to me. My inner survival bear said "no!", but 3:00 p.m. crash said, "anything".
Today was one of those days where unexpected self-employmentness kicked in. I met with a very kick-ass tax preparer with a southern accent who told me that I kept really good records. He also told me I needed $2400 in medical expenses to qualify for a schedule A. I have no idea what that means, but if I could travel back in time, I would eat 6 krispy kremes and call 911 and that would do the trick. Incidentally, my boy Briane Greene was on Letterman last night condensing string theory into macoroni and cheese. I've never heard him discuss time travel before, but I guess thats what happens when you sensationalize already sensationalized consumer physics.
After tax preparation, I show up for a radio spot that made me a quick $10. I just stood there and yelled with my bag on my shoulder. I went to cleancuts after to watch protools magic with schoolyard effect. A guy there got into a story about the weather that turned into his experience with RichardThompson in London. He was so quintessentially musician slash producer. I felt pro.
Finally I got into the office where the Admin assistant was raring to go off on NPR and the Schiavo case. So I got hardly anything done. I am so bad at just saying, "I really need to work." Anyway I made these 2 assessments about the news today:
1. Republicans slash insane religious folk are like that bad friend(girl to girl) in those lists of "women to watch out for". They talk incessantly-about themselves. They make backhanded compliments to you and somehow get everyones attention and when you go to confide something they suddenly have some new dramatic episode.
2. People who complain about rising gas prices drive me nuts. What did one brilliant office manager say? oh? whatever get over it?

The week in review-the long wind
I'm taking a break from a manic episode of spring cleaning to drop off some manic words.
First I'd like to say that I was leaving the Mill Center thursday as the Tour de Clay exhibit was kicking off, it looked cool. Free copies of the elusive Baltimore Style magazine.
Wednesday, I accidentally stumbled upon a Baltimore Blog happy hour as I was seeking out some cheap beef at the Diz. There was a brief moment of panic when I saw JasonDove, and realized I was surrounded by strangers whose lives I know about, and retreated to the upstairs.
Friday, today I received an email from my old friend JZ, the King of Comedy in my book. We've been collaborating on a slow motion music project in which he sent me alot of stuff and I have been sitting on it in frustrated confusion. Meanwhile Boston to Bmore, we share musical recommendations. He recently pointed out Robbers on High Street and I reacted with disdain based on the two songs I heard on Woxy along with some delusional alignment with Spoon. I apologized and he responded:" ...I know enough spoon to be a fan and to recognize the similarities, but now well enough to identify robbers as a rip-off. In other words, I'm no Jonathan Frisk, he he.". So this sentence has about 3 ways of being amusing. I guess thats why its important to have old friends. the layering funny effect.
Last night I got hooked on a terrible show called Starlet. Absolutely infuriating that they had to do a commericial in a bathing suit. Faye Dunaway, Sophia Loren, Katherine Hepburn, or Vivica Fox would never do that! pooch-free ≠acting ability. The poor (24 year old) thing conceded she needed to work out. White girls! Then on Jay, Ashanti waved her big butt and thighs proudly while she lip-synced. Right on.
Back to Wednesday, I have been listening to The Al Franken Show. Another far left liberal source of news. He has a great news pace like Diane Rehms. He made a really great point about people who claim they climbed the ranks with no help. But the truth is, no one has ever gotten anywhere without the help of anyone else. I've always thought of it as a very admirable quality but now it seems like a very selfish thing to say. It puts a dark shadow on DIY.
Finally, last night was the LookoutRecordsSXSW showcase. Hope everything went well and that my bros are musically blasting.

a mass of indispensible gas
This is from an email my sister sent me. The beginning I lopped off because I felt it was another offensive right-wing stereotype couched as patroitism. Its interesting to know the sources for our gas stations--the rest doesn't make sense to me. I listened to Diane Rehm's show today on drilling in Alaska and couldn't help thinking that as much as I believe that the land should be preserved, both correspondents were lying to me like a salesman selling cheap carpet.

I thought it might be interesting for you to know which oil companies are the best to buy gas from and which major companies import Middle Eastern oil :
Shell................................ 205,742,000 barrels
Chevron/Texaco.............. 144,332,000 barrels
Exxon /Mobil.................. 130,082,000 barrels
Marathon/Speedway....... 117,740,000 barrels
Amoco.............................62,231,000 barrels
If you do the math at $30/barrel, these imports amount to over $18 BILLION!
Here are some large companies that do not import Middle Eastern oil:
Citgo......................0 barrels
Sunoco...................0 barrels
Conoco...................0 barrels
Sinclair....................0 barrels
BP/Phillips...............0 barrels
Hess........................0 barrels
ARC0......................0 barrels
All of this information is available from the Department of Energy and each is required to state where they get their oil and how much they are importing.

We were in the 20, and I will be honest I am not sure what else was happening except that my brother told me to go out to the far right corner, loud enough for everyone to hear. When I got out and I heard him yell "ball's up" and I turned around to see from my periph, the guy (shown in red) coming to knock glory and wind away from me, but as the ball felll to the earth it wanted to be with me and not him. Then. an overwhelming warm feeling. warm piggy and applause. love.
I just realized I drew my sex incorrectly. that should be nun with a cross symbol.
I hope that people can read that story and kinda feel the way I do.

the Taintys are back in town
Last night was the kickoff of the Football AND kickball teams. It was an excellent opportunity for me to learn what a kickball strategy was and talk tv with many of the girls who were on my high school cheerleading squad. They really love the Law and Order. It was so crowded in this place, you can see why I couldn't order food, and how the drunk girl that didn't eat happened. I went to the show from there. I am glad all them dogs are going on tour together. They'll make great adventures.

Fight Fire with Flash
So I just received my 5 p.m. email from www.moveon.org and todays message attacks the Republican money PR blitz(es). They are suggesting a Flash animation contest to combat efforts like fake media correspondents. Grassroots, nice try--but advertising is big business. There has already been successful non-partisan(why its successful) Flash animations cruising the web by the folks at JibJab. I don't want to be a pooh-pooer. I hope it goes well. However, I think the liberal democrats need to take these young whippersnapping Macromedia monkeys and demonstrate some old-fashioned pole-cuffing and starvation, or is this the future of protest?
